Customer Rating: Summary: Re: Connecting to iPod Comment: 6FT 3.5 mm to 3 RCA AV Camcorder Video Cable Sony JVC 6
Although I don't have this particular cable, I found this note on a different site for a product that looks identical:
"If using this cable to iPod video, you will need to following these steps: red plug to yellow jack, yellow plug to white jack, white plug to red jack."
Maybe this will work for others having problems with iPod connectivity.
Customer Rating: Summary: perfect for video ipod Comment: no need to spend 60 dollars or more on the flashy monster/apple cable just hook this fella up and away you go
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent for hooking up to a Sound Blaster Audigy Comment: I purchased this cable as a replacement for a similar cable purchased from another vendor.
Since the target was my sound card, and my sound card has three connections that are very close together and must be used if you want 7.1 channel output, it was incredibly important that the 3.5mm plug end be thin. The cable I had purchased prior to this was *far* too large.
As far as the quality of the actual sound produced from this cable, well, you're taking a 4 pole 3.5mm plug and converting it into three RCA plugs. I don't think the cable is at fault for the quality of the sound, it's just not a good idea to use a 4 pole plug to deliver good quality sound.
Customer Rating: Summary: does what it's supposed to do Comment: i bought this cable as a cheaper alternative to spending $20+ on "official" a/v cables for the video ipod. i was contemplating spending $150 on the DLO homedock deluxe in order to connect my ipod to my tv. luckily i heard about the "secret" involving using a regular camcorder to tv cable. as long as you remember that the red plug carries the video signal, not the standard yellow plug, the cable will work fine. so the red plug goes into the yellow socket, white goes to white and the yellow plug into the red socket. make sure the ipod is outputting the video signal in ntsc (pal for european users) and that widescreen is turned on. the video will play fine and photos look great too.
Customer Rating: Summary: Does not support video ipods Comment: I ordered this item because of another review that said it works with the ipod. Mine did not work, i called and got another one because I thought mine was broken. Parts express was super helpful and sent another one free of charge.
The new one had the same problem of having sound but not video. Out of couriosity I pluged it into my canon digital camera and it worked perfictly with showing the pics.
The cords are pretty useless having that they direct both chanels of sound the right speakers so i cant even use it for a stereo adapter.
So unless you plan on using this for somthing other that an ipod, save you $12.
