Customer Rating: Summary: Vastly superior to factory pin jumpers Comment: Not every day does a product come along that is both cheap and wonderfully effective, especially in the audio world. Audioquest's preamp jumpers are a fantastic upgrade over the cheap, metal pin jumpers that come with most audio/video receivers. Let's be honest, the name of the game here is not improving a signal, cables can't do that. Good cables function merely as damage control, minimizing distortion and loss of the source. The stock metal jumpers that come with receivers are poorly constructed. They offer inferior conductivity, increased resistivity, and permits signal noise. Audioquest has ported over technology from some of their best cables lines for these cheap little jumpers and the result is a noticeable improvement in audio resolution and and cleanliness. Audioquest uses their high quality Perfect Surface Copper+ cable inside nice dielectric shielding to provide minimal signal loss. Their gold-placed connectors solidly grip the preamp RCA inputs and make a very nice connection. You wouldn't think such a small expanse of cable would make a difference, but that's just how truly bad the factory jumpers are.
Audiophiles are content to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars chasing down minuscule improvements in their systems. For $30, you simply won't find ANYTHING that gives your system the sonic improvement these will. For those that care about sound, its not just a good purchase, its a no-brainer.
Customer Rating: Summary: Works nice Comment: These made a very nice improvement in sound quality over the stock jumpers. The entire music spectrum sounds smoother, larger and clearer. This is worth the price in my opinion. I believe the copper used here is a step above the Audioquest Diamondback interconnects, which is also an excellent cable.
Customer Rating: Summary: An Audiophile's Gamble Comment: If you you know enough to even be looking at these, then you are probably on the lunatic fringe of audio and are looking for an inexpensive improvement for a system that has already overstretched your budget. I am this person. The AudioQuest jumpers are well built and the connections are solid; there is no fear of damaging them when installing or handling them. They do add detail to the sound you hear, adding air and nuance throughout the audio range. They do what they are supposed to do. However, this purchase is going to be a gamble for everyone because there is no telling whether they will improve the sound of your combination of equipement or whether the modification will suit your musical taste. I installed the jumbers on a new integrated amp I had just purchased and, combined with my speakers, they created a sound that was too bright for my taste so I removed them after a few days. I will try them again after I am sure my system is broken in properly.
In the end the AudioQuest jumpers are an inexpensive gamble for better sound that I take again; expecially, if my system lacked a good high end and was muddy in the lower register.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great price, prompt delivery Comment: Ten lucks less than retail even with the shipping. Very satisfied.
