Summary: Excellent antenna if you live close by
Comment: The ZHDTV1 is an excellent set-top antenna as long as you live relatively close by your local TV stations.

I live in the Buffalo, NY area and within 10 miles or so of all my local station's transmission towers. The antenna picks them all up from one aiming position, except one of the minor networks is weak unless I move the antenna.

The ZHDTV1 is very sensitive to movement and allows horizontal or vertical antenna fin orientation (it does make a difference). Even moving the antenna 1 inch one way or the other can make a difference in the signal strength you receive. I found one good position for mine and it works great in my apartment.

I highly recommend the ZHDTV1 antenna as long as you live within its reception range.

Summary: Works, but watch out
Comment: I works fine but mine came apart and wires inside snapped off their connections. It couldn't be repaired. I suggest that once you assemble it, don't try to take it apart for storage.

Summary: Excellent for UHF - HD
Comment: I have owned this antenna for three years and used it for receiving UHF channels along with another anntena for the VHF channels. I got to test the HD reception using this antenna only recently.
I get all the major HD channels on UHF with this antenna around 40 miles from the tower farm in Houston. The only HD channel I do not receive is local PBS affiliate which broadcasts on a low power VHF channel (8.1/9). I placed the antenna in the attic and it picks the signal though our house is in a pine forest to the north.

Summary: GREAT!
Comment: From my second story bedroom, this antenna gets reception from 35+ miles away with a hill in the way less than 1/2 mile away. It doesn't seem too directional to me. Aim it at the weakest signal and you'll probably get anything less than 30 miles away.

Summary: Works great.
Comment: This antenna can pickup most of the digital channel signals within the 30 miles range. However it is very directional. If you get your HD signal from two towers pointing in different directions you might have to adjust it back and forth.

Editorial Reviews:

High front-to-back ratio helps reject unwanted multi-path signal corruption. This ensures densely populated urban areas receive clear HDTV and data broadcasting signals.A flat forward gain slope delivers balanced reception throughout UHF. It ensures all channels are received to the same quality.Silver Sensor proven itself in front of the FCC, but it is now the "reference antenna" for data broadcasting.
